Parad Meru Kashyap Shri Yantra has eight petals as in the case of the real Shri Yantra where the Kamal or Lotus flower has eight sets with sixty-four Lotus petals.   It is also seen that most of the patterns of Yantras are founded on the blooming Lotus flower.   Here the problem arises as to why Guru Dattatreya chosen only the Lotus flower as the bottom of maximum Yantras. The reason is Lotus is the only holy flower, which initiates from the navel of God Vishnu
